East Village Bistro Closes After 12 Years
The East Village has lost a long-standing player in the local dining scene. Cafe Lumiere shuttered its doors last week after 12 years of operation. The owners cited rising rents and changing neighborhood demographics as reasons for the closure. Cafe Lumiere was known for its seasonal American menu and modest wine list. The space at 85 Second Avenue is currently listed for lease.
