Montefiore’s White Plains Hospital Expands Cardiac Care with New Mount Kisco Clinic

Montefiore Health System’s White Plains Hospital Center is advancing its outpatient cardiac services with plans to open a new cardiac extension clinic in Mount Kisco, signaling continued growth beyond its primary Westchester location. The proposed 2,320-square-foot facility will specialize in outpatient echocardiography and cardiac stress testing, addressing increasing demand for accessible cardiac diagnostics in Northern Westchester.

According to filings submitted to the New York State Department of Health, the project carries an estimated price tag of $1.8 million and is expected to be funded entirely through hospital cash reserves. Construction is projected to take approximately seven months, underscoring Montefiore’s commitment to expanding ambulatory care swiftly and efficiently.

The new WPH Mount Kisco Diagnostic Center will join a network of multispecialty outpatient sites operated by White Plains Hospital across Westchester County, including locations from Yonkers to Yorktown Heights. Hospital spokesperson Michael Gelormino emphasized the strategic importance of the expansion, stating that it aims to enhance patient access to comprehensive cardiac care without the need for hospital admission.

This move aligns with a broader trend among major health systems in the New York metropolitan area to shift specialized, non-invasive cardiac procedures to outpatient settings. By leveraging ambulatory clinics, Montefiore can reduce operational costs tied to inpatient care while maintaining high-quality service delivery. The hospital anticipates welcoming over 2,500 patient visits in the first year, with numbers expected to rise to nearly 2,800 by year three.

The Mount Kisco clinic represents a key milestone in Montefiore’s ongoing effort to strengthen its footprint in Westchester County, approximately 18 miles north of its main White Plains campus. As healthcare systems nationwide pivot toward decentralized, outpatient-focused care models, Montefiore’s investment highlights the competitive dynamics in regional health services and the growing importance of meeting suburban patient needs.
