Montefiore’s White Plains Hospital Expands Cardiac Care with New Mount Kisco Clinic

White Plains Hospital Center, a key component of the Montefiore Health System, is advancing its outpatient cardiac services with plans for a new cardiac extension clinic in Mount Kisco, Westchester County. The proposed 2,320-square-foot facility will offer outpatient echocardiography and cardiac stress testing, expanding access to specialized cardiac diagnostics roughly 18 miles from the hospital’s primary campus in White Plains.

According to filings submitted to the New York State Department of Health, the project carries an estimated cost of $1.8 million and is expected to reach completion within seven months. The hospital intends to fully finance the construction through cash reserves. This move aligns with Montefiore’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Northern Westchester and enhance ambulatory care offerings in the region.

The Mount Kisco Diagnostic Center will complement White Plains Hospital’s existing network of outpatient multispecialty practices spread across Westchester County, from Yonkers to Yorktown Heights. The health system projects the new clinic will handle over 2,500 patient visits in its first year, rising to nearly 2,800 visits by year three, reflecting anticipated demand for convenient cardiac services outside hospital inpatient settings.

Michael Gelormino, spokesman for White Plains Hospital, emphasized that the expansion underscores the hospital’s commitment to growing its service portfolio. “This new location will expand access to comprehensive cardiac care for our patients in Northern Westchester,” he stated. The initiative also mirrors a growing trend among hospital systems to shift cardiac diagnostics and procedures to ambulatory care sites, reducing overhead costs while maintaining specialty care accessibility.

Montefiore’s investment in outpatient cardiac care in the suburbs north of New York City highlights the evolving healthcare landscape, where health systems increasingly seek to balance cost-efficiency with patient-centered service delivery.
