Montefiore’s White Plains Hospital to Launch Cardiac Extension Clinic in Mount Kisco

Montefiore Health System’s White Plains Hospital Center is set to expand its outpatient cardiac services with a new extension clinic in Mount Kisco, marking a strategic growth move within Westchester County. The hospital has filed plans with the New York State Department of Health to construct a 2,320-square-foot facility dedicated to outpatient echocardiography and cardiac stress testing. Located approximately 18 miles from the main White Plains Hospital campus, the project is estimated to cost $1.8 million and is expected to be completed within seven months.

This new facility, named the WPH Mount Kisco Diagnostic Center, will enhance access to specialized cardiac diagnostic services for patients in northern Westchester. Michael Gelormino, a spokesperson for White Plains Hospital, emphasized that the expansion aligns with the hospital’s broader commitment to growing its service offerings across the region. The center is projected to handle over 2,500 patient visits in its inaugural year, increasing to nearly 2,800 visits by its third year.

The Mount Kisco clinic will join a network of outpatient multispecialty practices operated by White Plains Hospital throughout Westchester, with existing locations ranging from Yonkers to Yorktown Heights. This expansion reflects a wider industry trend where hospital systems shift certain cardiac procedures and diagnostic tests to ambulatory care sites. This approach reduces overhead costs and improves patient convenience by providing specialty care without inpatient admission.

Montefiore’s investment in outpatient infrastructure north of New York City underscores its intent to deepen its regional footprint amid increasing demand for accessible cardiac care. Funding for the Mount Kisco project will come from hospital cash reserves, demonstrating confidence in the long-term viability and community need for expanded ambulatory cardiac services.
