Montefiore’s White Plains Hospital to Open Cardiac Extension Clinic in Mount Kisco
White Plains Hospital Center, a key component of the Montefiore Health System, is advancing its outpatient cardiac services with plans to establish a new cardiac extension clinic in Mount Kisco, Westchester County. The proposed 2,320-square-foot facility will focus on outpatient echocardiography and cardiac stress testing, expanding access to specialized cardiac diagnostics roughly 18 miles from its main campus in White Plains.
According to a filing submitted to the New York State Department of Health, the project is budgeted at approximately $1.8 million and is expected to be fully financed through hospital funds. Construction is projected to take around seven months. Michael Gelormino, a spokesman for White Plains Hospital, emphasized that the new clinic aligns with the hospital’s strategy to broaden its service footprint in Northern Westchester and improve patient access to comprehensive cardiac care.
The Mount Kisco Diagnostic Center will complement an existing network of outpatient multispecialty practices that Montefiore operates across Westchester, including locations from Yonkers to Yorktown Heights. The hospital anticipates handling over 2,500 patient visits in the clinic’s first year, increasing to close to 2,800 by the third year.
This initiative reflects a broader trend among health systems in the New York metropolitan area to shift select cardiac procedures and diagnostic testing to ambulatory care centers. By decentralizing specialty services away from inpatient facilities, systems like Montefiore can reduce operational costs and streamline patient care, while meeting growing demand for outpatient cardiac evaluations. This move also signals Montefiore’s continued investment in strengthening its presence in the northern suburbs, reinforcing its commitment to serving the expanding Westchester patient base.
