NYC Business Pulse is launching two new live trackers that auto-update from our daily news coverage. Both are free, no paywall, and designed for founders, recruiters, VCs, and reporters who need quick situational awareness on the NYC business scene.
NYC Layoffs Watch
Auto-aggregated from our reporting on workforce reductions, restructurings, and job cuts hitting NYC companies. Every story is classified by impact size:
- Large (1k+): mass cuts at major employers
- Medium (100+): significant team-level reductions
- Small: targeted role eliminations
- Context: related industry/macro coverage
Filter by impact, see this-week / this-month / 90-day stats, and click through to the full story. Updated as news breaks.
NYC Funding Tracker
Live tracker of NYC startup funding rounds, venture investments, and capital raises. Each story is classified by stage and amount:
- Mega ($100M+): headline-grabbing rounds
- Large ($25M+): Series B/C and bigger
- Series: growth-stage rounds (Series A and up)
- Seed: pre-seed and seed-stage deals
Filter by stage, search by neighborhood (when geocoded), and pull totals for the past quarter. Pulls fintech, healthtech, AI, real estate, and consumer brands.
How they work
Unlike a static “list of NYC startups,” these trackers automatically include any new story we publish that matches the keywords (layoffs, restructuring; raises, Series, round, funded). No manual curation required — your only job is to publish quality reporting upstream.
Both pages emit Schema.org Dataset and ItemList JSON-LD, which means Google can index them as structured data assets eligible for the Dataset Search index.
Looking for the broader live picture? Try the parent NYC Business Tracker, which covers companies, real estate, markets, and economy in one feed.
