White Plains Hospital to Open $1.8M Cardiac Clinic in Mount Kisco, Expanding Montefiore’s Westchester Reach

White Plains Hospital Center, a key component of the Montefiore Health System, is set to broaden its outpatient services with a new cardiac extension clinic in Mount Kisco. The planned 2,320-square-foot facility will offer outpatient echocardiography and cardiac stress testing, marking a strategic expansion approximately 18 miles north of the hospital’s main campus in White Plains.

According to a recent filing with the New York State Department of Health, the $1.8 million project reflects Montefiore’s ongoing effort to deepen its presence in Northern Westchester, a region experiencing growing demand for accessible specialty care. “White Plains Hospital continues to grow its services,” said hospital spokesman Michael Gelormino. “This new location will expand access to comprehensive cardiac care for our patients in Northern Westchester.”

The proposed WPH Mount Kisco Diagnostic Center will complement an existing network of outpatient multispecialty practices that Montefiore operates across Westchester County, including sites in Yonkers and Yorktown Heights. The health system anticipates the clinic will handle more than 2,500 patient visits in its first year, increasing to nearly 2,800 by year three, underscoring the region’s rising need for convenient cardiac diagnostics.

This new ambulatory care model aligns with broader healthcare trends where hospital systems shift select cardiac services away from inpatient settings to outpatient clinics. This strategy reduces overhead costs while maintaining patient access to high-quality specialty care. Montefiore plans to fund the clinic entirely through cash reserves, with an expected construction timeline of about seven months.

Montefiore’s expansion northward highlights the competitive dynamics of the New York metropolitan healthcare market, where systems are increasingly investing in outpatient centers to capture patient volume beyond city limits.
